Alice, on the Other Side

Written and directed by
Hugo Bélanger

Alice Through the Looking-Glass? No! Alice, on the other side… of the stage!

Alice refuses to go to bed and prefers to play in front of her mirror, inventing a thousand and one characters, dreaming that she is a great acclaimed actress. Suddenly, applause is heard, applause that comes from her mirror! Alice walks up to it and crosses over to the other side… of the show!

She finds herself behind the scenes, in the marvelous world of the theatre populated by characters, each more fanciful than the other; such as the Knitter of Ideas, the Prompter, the Musica, the terrible Megalomaniac and his assistant, not forgetting the Ghost of the theatre!

A true tribute to the workings of the theatre, Alice, on the Other Side will lead the audience into a world just as delirious as that of our Alice in Wonderland, but this time in a completely new and original story!

And watch out for Critickattacks!!!

Alice, on the Other Side, benefited from a creative residency at the Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne, as well as a creative residency from Spect’Art Rimouski, the show’s main partner.

On December 4th, 2023, the french version of Alice, on the Other Side won the Critics’ Award from the Association québécoise des critiques de théâtre (AQCT) in the “Best Show for Young Audiences” categorie.
